Rinji pulled himself into a dusty tireswing in the quiet playground, and used his little feet to push himself off from the pebbly ground. The little blond boy swayed happily for a while, giggling to himself, before being struck with the completely ingenious decision to twist the iron chains on the tireswing so that he would be riding in fast violent circles. He did so, and from every single direction and angle he could see the jagged outlines of the dark mountains that partially blocked the mild rays of sunlight. Rinji soon become very dizzy and shut his bright blue eyes tightly from the sensation of light vertigo. The young child was the only student in the whole park, making it obvious that he was truant from class in the academy. Rinji was enjoying himself immensely (I should do this much more often!) before realizing that a dark shadow was nearing from behind him. The blond-haired boy let out a loud frightened yelp and dangled helplessly from his tireswing. "Crapcrapcrap! I'm in so much trouble!" He cried out nervously, his beryl eyes stretched out in fear.

What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost? Bakuhatsu happened to have been walking that day when she saw someone alone by himself. Being the flirt she is, she decided to go talk to him. Wait, aren't you supposed to be in the academy?
Rinji pulled himself out of the tireswing with difficulty, and landed onto the dusty ground with a small thud upon his haunches. He glanced up into the face of the pretty girl, and straightened his back in a small act of bravado. He was thankful that she wasn't an adult - or worse, a teacher.
Wait, aren't you supposed to be in the academy? "I'm almost a genin." Rinji replied carefully, now laying on his back. The steely gray sky that was stretched above like a tent canvas stared down at him. The pebbly ground was horribly uncomfortable. "Today was just a review day. Boring stuff. I've already gotten everything down." He then turned his face to the new girl, squinting through his blue eyes. He saw her headband. "So, you're a genin? No wonder I've never seen you before." He waved a lazy hand, "I'm Rinji Hoshino!"

Bakuhatsu extended her hand and pet the young boy's hair while leaning down to get leveled with him. Well Rinji, I think you're just adorable, but that's no excuse to skip school. Perhaps today they decided what teams you're on, and you are left with the worst team! Bakuhatsu gave him a pinch on the cheek then walked away. Before being out of audible range she said, Hurry along now! If you want to have a good team you have to work hard. You might even be in mine! She then turned and walked away, without so much as looking if he took her advice or not; Partially because she wanted him to do what she told him, and partially because she did not want to see whether he was obedient or not.
"Well Rinji, I think you're just adorable, but that's no excuse to skip school." Rinji squirmed as these pleasing words entered his ears, charmed yet slightly embarassed by her forward and outgoing nature. His cheek blossomed with rouge as she pinched it flirtatiously. "Perhaps today they decided what teams you're on, and you are left with the worst team!" The idea of this made Rinji immediately jump up, as though he had received the 1000 years of jutsu. "Of course the teachers would do something like that! Doing something important without any previous announcements!" He hissed, and trotted towards the academy. Before the two had left the boundaries of the playpark, Rinji tossed another statement over his shoulder. "We should meet again sometime!" Then the boy broke into his class late, his breathing heavy from running such a distance...

Bakuhatsu saw that it was later than she had thought. It was late and she had to gather more clay for her practice the next day. She was not in a team yet, but wanted to prepare. She knew that she'd get at least one teammate that would be at her level. If she wanted to get further in the ranks, she'd have to be the strongest in the group.
