Gurgling water poured over the lip of the rocks in a smoothing running curve, before crashing loudly in a chasm below. The thick bars of pale sunlight swept over the lush fields of rolling grass, and helped set a myriad of rainbows trapped in the waterfall’s spray. This was what gifted the village with its unlimited supply of silver mist. A thicker wave of mist rolled out to greet Orochi as he neared the training field with his two new genin. Finally, the shaggy moss receded into flat ground. The jonin halted into a stop, and faced his apprentices with a sense of pride. He was really quite unpredictable. From his waist pouch, Orochi pulled out two silver bells, tucked in the zippered pack from the previous night. They jingled sweetly in his roughened hands as he tied them firmly onto the metal sheath of his sleek katana sword. “The bell test.” His voice rang out clearly in the fog, with a hint of superiority you would expect from a jonin. “Requires for both of you two to steal a bell from me each. Use your weapons, as you won’t stand a chance against me otherwise. Especially in this thick brume.” His honey-coloured gaze swept over the surroundings, with his face unreadable once more. Tendrils of film and billow weaved through the dark forest that hemmed the small group in. The light beams of the sun seemed to slash harshly over the outline of the dark foliage, as though it was impossible for light to enter the woods. It would help the genin sharpen their senses. “Oh, and if you don’t get a bell by the end of the day, you’ll have to redo your academy years. You should have learned enough skills for this.” Orochi finished indifferently, his words noticeably unembellished and straightforward. “There’s nothing in the forest that will hurt you, other than trips and falls.” Without waiting to see if the two genin had questions, Orochi dematerialized in the enveloping haze with a genjutsu technique that swirled around him with more thick fog. The little bells reverberated softly one last time, teasing the genin. The bell test differed slightly from the original version that was created in Konohakagure, but done so that it fitted with Kirikagure’s own strengths and customs.
( ooc: my writing is gonna go downhill from here, as i'm not used to roleplaying fights (: so be prepared for choppy and predictable writing :c and Orochi will be hiding out in the treetops because he expects his students to get lost in the foggy forest. you guys won't need to steal the bells off Orochi as long as you pair together by the end, then he'll pass you.)

This test is meant to determine cooperation within the team. Since he is a jonin, attempting to get the bells from Orochi would be very difficult for Genin. Finding him would be challenge enough. Romaji realizes this and that he must talk to Rikuto. Without facing Rikuto, he began to think of a strategy for finding Orochi and taking the bells. However, he needed information of what abilities his partner had and he needed to let his partner know what it is that HE could do. As if his life depended on it, he drew the courage to talk to his partner.
"Obviously we will not be able to find and take the bells from Orochi by ourselves. We should know what abilities the other has so as to make a strategy for rooting him out and taking the bells. I specialize in genjutsu. I have moderate taijutsu skills and i'm a bit lacking in ninjutsu. I have almost no ninjutsu except for the ones taught in the academy. I can do a great number Taijutsu and Genjutsu. I can create imaginary clones that allow us to wear our enemy out. As such I will be most useful as support. If we use Bunshin no Jutsu to find him, we could conserve on energy. What do you think?"
As they entered the misty area, Rikuto began to take notes. It was already misty so Hidden Mist would not be needed. The land they stood on was leveled, so terrain was out the question as well. The bell test was infamous for being brutal, just like Rikuto wanted. Though his teammate was the problem. He was timid, how were they going to communicate in such a way to work this way out.
Romanji explained his plan and Rikuto added in his part. "I have excellent ninjutsu and taijutsu. I only know a little genjutsu. This would be an excellent plan, but we cannot see anything. He could easily just move away from us when we are close. Let's just clear some mist around us shall we." Rikuto smiled, pulling out his Tanto. Erin won't fail me now. He closed his eyes, focusing chakra onto his blade. "Vacuum Blade!" He cried slashing the blade infront of them as a gust of wind arched and cleared some of the mist in their way.
"Clones?" He asked wondering when he was going to start the strategy.

"OK! Bunshin No Jutsu!"
Two clones appeared. One went North and the other went East.
"Make two clones and send one South and the other West. If you spot him, attack. He will undoubtedly destroy the clone, which will let us know his position. We will stay in this central area, and wait until we have spotted him. Once so, we will take all the remaining cones and search the area where we last spotted him. Once found, I will use Kakuremino no Jutsu and wait for you to distract him. My clone will make it seem as though I am there and not sneaking around him, waiting for the chance to strike. If however he sees through this, we will throw smoke bombs, hide, and use our Mist servant Technique. Once he is worn out, we will appear and use our Taijutsu until the point where he collapses."
The dark, vast forest around Orochi echoed with silence. He arose in swirling smoke in a bed of strewn pebbles from leaving his two apprentices, noticing how to ground changed abruptly from the lush grass of the training moor to how no grass grew within the forest. The dank, gray trees closed in high overhead, blocking out any shred of the steely sky. On the gnarled bark was the only source of light – sickly glowing fungi that thrived by living as parasites on the trees. The air was cold around the jonin, so full of baleful fog that it was hard to breathe properly or see straight ahead. He stepped over a slimy log, and preformed a genjutsu that cleared the thick brume long enough for Orochi to leap high up into the shadowy branches of a tall elm. When he kicked off from the lifeless ground, Orochi noticed how it sucked around his sandals with stickiness – hidden, squelching mud. How careless of me. He thought with an inward sigh, and raised his hands to twist his fingers in the tiger hand seal. Below, his footprints were casted with an illusion spell. Hopefully his new students would know to make sure their trails disappear from behind him – it was a shinobi basic. The brume had returned to where he had set the clearing jutsu a moment before. In the sinister canopy of gently rusting leaves, the air wasn’t densely wreathed with haze, but was still thickened with shadows. Moving silently, Orochi leaped from tree to tree – moving in a north-eastern direction. There was no sign of other life in the clammy woods. They’re probably still thinking of a plan.
ooc: is it considered godmodding if orochi kills the clones? or do the clones still belong to the roleplayer as a character?

"Once we find him, you will use the Haze Clone Technique while I use the Mist servant technique. Once we see he is worn out, we will shoot 4 shuriken parallel to the ground, simultaneously. They will be attached to combat wire. We will throw them in a curved motion so that they wrap around him. This will keep him from moving on the ground, and he will think that is our plan. He will most likely gain some altitude. We're counting on that. Even if he stands still, you will immediately rush in and use Shadow of the Dancing Leaf. Once he is in the air, I will hit him with a leaf whirlwind in a downwards direction. Once he is that suspended state, you will tackle him in an upwards direction in the air and take the bells. If he somehow escapes from that, you will use Temporary Paralysis Technique. I will then use the Hiding in Mist Technique. Then I will use Magic Cloak of Invisibility Technique."
While Romanji finished the plan, Rikuto made two Haze clones and sent them in the directions stated. "I see someone's been watching me." He thought to himself from his vast knowledge of eachother's techniques. "Sure Sure." He said holding his thumb on the hilt of his sword. "Adaptation." He told his squadmate rushing off Western with his clone. There was too many factors to put into play. The mist was making it harder to see, and the mucky mud made them slower to react.
ooc: Nope since they are clones and not the real person.

"Do you happen to know anything about Orochi? Besides it being useful to adapt our strategy, I'm a bit curious as to what he is like."
Romaji stopped and thought to himself. "What if we get our clones to go as far as they can then getting them to circle the area in an inwards spiral? This would maximize our probability for finding him."
"Rikuto, once your clones reach the furthest distance possible for you, get them to circle the area in an inwards clockwise spiral coming closer and closer to us. This way we will be able to maximize the probability of us finding Orochi."
While he said this, he began to prepare his shuriken for the trap and handed them to Orochi. He then prepared a Kunai with a paper bomb wrapped around the handle below a cloth wrapping. In between the paper bomb and the cloth was a sensitive match that ignites when certain G forces are exerted on it such as throwing it.
Rikuto stopped his walk and turned around. "Don't get close to him. His sword is grand." He smiled. The eagerness behind him was so great he couldn't hide the smile on his face. He threw on his hood and jumped into a tree, and with his clones began to go their routes.

Romaji leaned on a tree and took out a book of puzzles. With great confidence he took out a pen. He thought he would not make a mistake. He sat for what felt like a lifetime. He had progressed further in his book. He looked up and realized he was alone again.
He thought of his apartment with it's small cramped rooms. He slept, or at least tried, on his bed. A decent bed, but nothing special. There was one window in the kitchen, but there was nothing to look at. The air was thick with mist, the streets desolate, and the buildings slouching towards the street. Everyday he would go just outside the village to train his jutsu. It could be seen on the marks on the trees and the patches of land without earth. It was right by the bay where many people say that mysterious creatures live. He did not believe in myths, and continued to go there. One day however, he believed he saw a figure in the water through the thick mist. He was a bit frightened at first but later forgot. A few weeks later, he saw three figures through the mist, but also dismissed it. There was a mix of terror and curiosity going through his head from then on. He continued to go to that same spot for many months. He then looked up and thought about what it could have been.
Orochi rested a frigid hand against the bone-pale tree on which he was presently standing on. It had been several minutes since he had kicked off from the lifeless ground and joined the thickening shadows of the monkey-puzzle trees. Dark foliage was twisted from all sides of him, and in the echoing silence, the jonin could hear his students casually chatting with faint, indistinctive voices. He was almost impatient. Orochi hadn't particularly cared to conceal himself completely within the woods, and almost had a mind to slam his sharpened kunai into the smooth bark of his tree - anything to send the tiniest vibration through the peering darkness.
He sensed it immediately, like a lingering scent lost in the vastness of the mist air. The jonin swung his head around and rested an intense gaze on the twisted branches that had unexpectedly lurched below him. The jonin dropped his hand into his shruiken holster without hesitation, and almost lovingly fingered the sharp jagged edge of one. It spun in his bandaged fingers before it was accurately hurled at the rustling's pinpoint - erupting in swirling smoke. He hadn't cared to bother if the disturbance was caused by a student - the edge of his katana had many times bitten deeply into living flesh, so what was there in simply throwing a shruiken? A clone. His own thoughts echoed in the sleeping forest. His own students must of formulated a plan already. It was a strange thing, he believed, like watching two tiger cubs gambol playfully while fully knowing that they would someday grow into fierce man-eating beasts. Like watching two sharks learning how to swim. And there must be more clones around. The two brassy bells were still secured inside the sheath of his sleek katana. He had been careful to dispose of the original clone without using disruptive methods that would have broken the ringing silence of the foggy forest. I can play a game.
Orochi performed the tiger hand seal, and before him materialized two exact copies of the jonin, perfectly watching his sinewy body and defined contours. One was sent immediately north to scout out any more student clones while the other was given the duty of performing the genjutsu that caused the oblivious prey into walking in circles for hours on end. After the two dopplegangers silently lowered themselves back onto the brume-wreathed forest floor, Orochi knelt back down onto the thick branch of the tree, waiting...
It had only felt like several minutes before the scouting clone had returned, twisting like a panther in the gloom, before halting a short distance away from Orochi. Whirling smoke rose from below the clone's feet, before the rest of the body followed suit. It had completed what it had set out to do. Silence lengthened steadily before the next doppleganger arrived, giving Orochi a slight nod. This clone was kept as a surrogate to the jonin. It bounded up higher into the knotted branches, to where the leafy broughs parted. The light that filtered from the foliage was nearly fluorescent.
(tldr: The north and south clones are gone and there's that genjutsu thing now casted on the boys' area, wher you walk around in circles or whatever)

Romaji felt a disruption. He dropped his book and focused on his clones. He could no longer sense the clone that had been sent north. He looked around but there was no trace of Rikuto anywhere. "Rikuto! Are you there? I've found him! He's north somewhere! Come quick!". He had no time to wait, Orochi could move around at any second. He took out a kunai and carved on a tree, "north". He ran off and hoped his partner would notice it and follow along.
East from there was Romaji's other clone. It was unaware of the developments and continued its plan. However, he too was under the genjutsu of Orochi, and would stay in the same general area. He would be only a burden on Romaji as he wastes chakra upkeeping it.
Rikuto could not hear his teammates cries. He was too far away towards the west to notice anything. He ran in the same direction for a while noticing very little change in the area. "Ugh, when does this training grounds end!?" He yelled stopping slashing at a tree with Erin. He continued on more to find their sensei.
