Romaji ran and ran, but felt no closer than when he began. It seemed as if the same trees kept growing right in front of him. I'll never get there in time. I should have trained harder, ran more. And where is this guy? Has he never heard of punctuality?
Elsewhere in the woods, Romaji's clone had gotten lost, or so he thought. Screw this, I'm despawning!
Romaji felt his clone disappearing. Something's wrong, it seems I wasn't the only one that was lost. My clone would only have despawned if it was lost or in trouble. What is going on?!?!? First Rikuto is nowhere to be seen or heard. Next, I have run for much longer than I should have to reach my destination. Romaji looked around. He was startled and he shrank back. His book was not 2 meters away and "north" was written on a tree just north of it. It must be a genjutsu! He rushed chakra to all his senses. He then headed to find Rikuto.
Rikuto stopped and looked around with rage filled eyes. "How big is this place!" He yelled punching a tree to his side. After his tantrum finished he noticed the same marking he made before. "Was I going in circles? My clones are still active. They haven't found him yet either. They should be looping now." Rikuto thought more about the situation. He was under a genjutsu! "Kai!" He cried as he dispelled the genjutsu. "Don't even know how to get out of a genjutsu I know.." He sighed dashing off north towards Romaji.

Romaji rushed westward to find Rikuto. I hope he didn't hurt himself in that genjutsu. They had gotten sidetracked for too long. Orochi could be anywhere. Even if they could find him, they would have trouble carrying out the original plan. They had been worn out from the genjutsu and the advantage would be on Orochi's side. At first, he just ran out somewhere, trying to hide from us, but after so much time had passed, he would have been able to scout the area for a suitable location for all his jutsus.
Romaji saw a mark on a tree as if it had been stricken. He must have realized what was going on. Since I did no run into him, he must have headed north. Romaji ran after Rikuto, unaware of what was in store for his teammate and himself.
Rikuto continued heading north towards where he thought he teammates was. As he ran farther the trees began to become sparse. Soon it became an empty field with trees surrounding it. As Rikuto almost got to the end of the area he stepped over a tree branch, this branch had Orochi on it. "Found you!" He yelled pulling out Erin as he landed on a branch close by.

Just south of Rikuto and Orochi was Romaji. His heart was racing and he was panicking. I have to go find Rikuto. He could be trapped by another one of Orochi's genjutsu or ninjutsu. I cannot let this test be a failure when I could easily have changed that!
"Found you!" Orochi's honey-coloured eyes fell onto the genin as he landed on the branch. This was the real Rikuto, he simply knew from years of fighting clones. The genin pulled out his tanto, and in turn Orochi rose up from his branch and unsheathed his glossy katana. Even in the fog of the lifeless forest, it still shone cleanly. Where was Romaji? Were they not partnered for this bell test? Both of the genins had already failed.
Orochi heaved a long sigh. There was no point in continuing if they had failed. He sheathed his sword back into it's place. The scarred jonin left his branch in a flash, quicker than a heartbeat, and threw a length of ninja wire at Rikuto with accuracy. If Rikuto wasn't quick, he would be forcefully thrown against the trunk of the nearest tree and tied down with the strong wire. While the ninja wire had been thrown, Orochi also casted several kunai that were enveloped in blazing flame at the genin. The deserted branch barely had enough time to swing back in place when Orochi had finished.

Romaji had been wandering the forest when 20 meters from him, he saw a flash. He pulled out a kunai, jumped upwards so as to come down next to the shine. A split second before jumping, he saw Rikuto looking directly at the source of the shine. At that moment, he curved his jump so as to land between them. On his way down, he saw some string and flaming kunai. He jumped beside the line so as to cut it, and immediately afterwards deflected the kunai. His deflection was not perfect though. One kunai grazed the skin on the side with the pinkie, and brought some burns along with it. He dropped his kunai, having deflected all the kunai thrown by Orochi. He put the burnt part of his hand up to his mouth and sucked on it to ease the pain.

When Rikuto had charged at Orochi, he put Romaji out of his view. When Rikuto charged, Romaji charged behind him and mirrored his moves so he would stay out of sight. After he "missed" to the right, Romaji came from the left and charged at Orochi. He had a kunai with a paper bomb attached, which was already ignited. As Rikuto jumped down, Romaji used the leaf gale toknock Orochi off balance, then planted the kunai on the tree besides where Orochi would land as he jumped down.
Orochi watched as his apprentices dodged his attacks, now realizing that they had been working together all along. Romaji had probably gotten lost within the circling genjutsu that Orochi had employed onto the misty forest. Although rapid in speed for a genin, Romaji had gotten slightly injured. The genins had passed their test.
A loud explosion shattered through the lifeless forest, and sent a huge swirling cloud of fume and leaping embers above the trees. Had Orochi been caught in the kunai that was wrapped in detonating parchment? The Kirikagure jonin had dodged Rikuto's short sword, although it had come close to grazing against his shoulder. At that same time, his honey-coloured eyes caught a glimpse at the lightly smoking weapon that was already ignited in Romaji's hands. Explosive tags. He leapt off his branch swiftly and swung several smoke bombs onto the tree's limb. The smoke bombs had erupted after finishing its plunge in midair, releasing a great amount of deep gray brume. The whirling cloud quickly shrouded the patch of woods, and gave Orochi enough cover to do one last thing – annul the smoking kunai with the snake hand seal. It was all completed in several seconds; after all, Orochi was a handpicked elite ninja. The kunai stayed in the cleaving branch, with their parchment half eaten from ignition.
The mentor could have also used the giant bank of cloud to disappear deeper into the woods, but instead he settled onto another branch that was covered thickly in gray cinder. This was all well planned for a handful of quick genins – what would be there next move?
Orochi stayed standing in his position until the leaden billow had died in the unmoving air – which took quite a while. When it had cleared completely, he unsheathed his katana. It created a swift silvery arch in the air as he swung it. The jonin held it ominously for several heartbeats, before reaching a hand to the handle of the sleek sword. There, he untied the two brassy bells. The flew into the air as he tossed them into the injured hands of his genin, jingling softly. "Congratulations." There was a slow smile on his face - but it was of genuine pride. None of his past students had beaten the bell test from before - no matter how talented they were. How could a handful of genin hope to conquer an experienced jonin? "You two have passed. No more academy training for you. The real test was teamwork." His head tipped back a little as he studied the scene of the mock battleground. "Starting tomorrow... I'll ask the Kirikage for a C-ranked mission. You two are more than ready."
(I'm terrible at thinking of plots, so you two will have to think of what the C-ranked mission is xD)

"Wha..Oh come on!" Rikuto growled. It was already over! He then kicked the tree branch as he hopped down onto the ground by Romaji. "I guess we are the perfect two man group!" Rikuto smiled patting Romaji on the shoulder.

Romaji, for the first time in a long time, felt human affection. He was unsure how to feel. This feeling was alien to him. He was raised aline to other people. He had neither aliens nor friends to count on, only his research and training. He was the only person in the library after hours. The old librarians had no one to go home to and wanted to get their work done so they can relax during the day. He ordered the books when he was done. There was no reason to hurry home. There was no mother wandering where he'd been. But now, he had someone that counted on him. A smile arose from that blank face that seemed always present.
Orochi leapt off the branch, which swung on release of his weight, and dropped onto the mist-wreathed ground after performing a flip in the air. The empty thud of his landing was quickly swallowed up in the vast emptiness of the dark forest. The jonin padded to his genins and quickly scanned them for any injuries, as a responsible teacher would. "Just some scratches, they'll wash off with warm water." He said softly, before taking Romaji's hand into his grasp and inspecting the wound - which was a mixture of a burn and cut. Shrewd as Orochi was, he was unaware of how the genin was unused to close human contact. Out from his waist pouch, the teacher pulled out a bottle of surprisingly icy water and poured it over the burn. It would help clean off any debris that nestled itself into the graze. Then Orochi drew a small tin of aloe vera gel and lightly spread it across the scorched skin, before finally wrapping the finger in a bandage made of light fabric. The lotion would help soothe the pain and redness of the exposed skin. He continued softly, "I must have gotten too carried away... anyway, it's just aloe vera jelly... make sure to apply a little more tonight and your wound will be fine by tomorrow... oh, and bring two extra masks with you tomorrow, won't you Romaji? I think I know what mission the Mizukage will give us."
ooc: whoops its late xD and i'll continue in the misty reaches.
