Backstory:
Shinji is the unlikely jinchuriki of Shukaku. After the Fourth Great Shinobi World War Shukaku had been placed inside a very capable ninja. She had excelled as the jinchuriki but would transfer Shukaku into her unborn son. She died shortly after giving birth to Shinji. Shinji without much family left was taken in by Gaara and raised like a son.
As he was growing up Gaara made it clear that he was a jinchuriki. He didn't want Shinji to go through the same that he had as a jinchuriki. This helped Shinji mature and he grew to train with the abilities that Shukaku granted him. Shinji had been raised to not hate himself or others for being a jinchuriki. He is generally well known throughout Suna and is considered to be a highly capable ninja.
