Suuji pulled himself out of the water again and again. Soaked with failure and heavy clothes, it took 2 and a half hours for Suuji to remember what Bananas-san had told him. His chakra was being disrupted by that god forsaken watermelon. This was no ordinary water-walking. Suuji had to really focus for this one or he would be met with failed attempt after failed attempt. He couldn't fail. He had come so far and was making excellent progress. He couldn't let Bananas-san down, not after what he had said.
Suuji stood at the water's banks, focusing and balancing his chakra for a good 30 minutes. When he felt that he was ready, he walked out onto the lake once again, this time met with different results. It was difficult to maintain, but he had done it. He could walk on water again, similar to how he used to. He stood there, waiting for Bananas-kun to return. Hopefully with something other than watermelons this time.

Hours passed before Bananas-kun made an appearance, jumping from a tree branch, a furry sack slung over his shoulder and carried on his back. Landing swiftly, his leg swiping around in a circular movement as he landed, before throwing the sack in front of him. "Aha! I forgot! The watermelon's strength would of weakened over time... It's dinner, watermelon for dessert as tonight's going to be no exception -- I did tell you you're gonn' feel as old as me by time I'm done with you -- Rude-boy-kun?!" He laughed out loud, turning the sack upside down to empty out varieties of berries, bananas and other exotic fruit, nothing unhealthy at all being amongst the natural-grown food in such a chakra-potent place. "Ten minutes break, then you're back in the -refreshing- water!"
"Wha--? But? No. NO. NO MORE OF THAT FUCKING WATERMELON." Suuji didn't want to eat that poison ever again, but he needed to eat something. He jumped over to the fruit like a drug-addict to a cocaine-glazed donut. He began scarfing down multiple berries, unconcerned about the side-effects that would surely come along with them.
Suuji wondered how long he would be here. His father had told him stories about how it would sometimes take years. Now that he thought about it, they hadn't even reached the most difficult part of the training yet and he was already struggling. Was this cut out for him? Suuji shaked the thought out of his head. He had to do this.
Seeing Suuji hold a sudden look of denial, he would feel the small hand of the Monkey's slap across his full-mouth, "That is something I will not give you sympathy for.. If you show look of doubt, it is a weakness - you've nothing to doubt - Fuigi-boy only had one watermelon slice a week, he couldn't mold chakra for days and this training took more than a few months to complete.. Sage Mode is rare, yes? There's a reason why." The Monkey would speak broadly, a slight frown upon his glowing amber eyes, trying to re-assure Suuji as he'll find himself losing more and more faith, otherwise.
Upon finishing his heart-warming speech, the monkey would stamp against the edge of the watermelon, flinging it high in the air before he threw his body in a spinning-motion of a kick, sending the piece of fruit flying through the air, aimed toward Suuji's mouth, like something out of an anime (;'D), "You're stronger, Rude-boy-kun, I thought that's what you wanted people to know? Or was I wrong and you can't chew what you bite, eh?! Hehehe~!" He felt he had Suuji right in his palm, as he tried boost confidence here.
Suuji clenched his fist as he felt the impact from Bananas-kun's hands. He knew he was right. He knew he had to do it. Suuji's eyes flared up as a new-found confidence filled him. He grabbed the watermelon from the air with one hand and shoved it into his mouth. He made a promise to himself and to Bananas' that he wouldn't fail. He'd give it his all in every task and he'd obey Bananas' in everything he requested. He'd finish this training no matter how hard and long it took. He wouldn't leave until it was finished.
"I'm sorry, Bananas-sama. I'll never bitch about anything until this training is done." With that said, he walked out onto the lake's banks once again and stepped out onto the water. He sunk slowly this time, but sunk nonetheless. He dragged himself out a few more times before he could stand on the water again. He shot Bananas a smile as he stood on top of the water once again.
"Aahahahaha... I will be sure to bet a banana or two against that, Rude-boy-kun." With this last mention of his nickname he had bestowed upon Suuji - mentioned in this timeline atleast. Suuji would find himself thrown through intense, repeated training - doing the same task for weeks with no end in sight. Chakra control repeatedly barraged into his head, the balance of nature being apart of Bananas-kun's explainations for plenty of things.
With many bananas and meals into the future, years had passed with the bond between Suuji and the Ape-Kingdom growing immensely, Suuji had become widely known throughout this particular plane as the current Sage. Many taking a liking to him through his increased determination and strength as a Shinobi and now, as a fighter for the Ape-kin.
Many years later, the oasis Bananas-kun used as a training ground was also his most favoured area of the Jungle, his home infact being within the abnormally high trees of this area, just getting there to begin with had taken weeks to learn infact, test after test thrown at Suuji.
Though, finally, the main character returning to screen, Bananas-kun had landed upon a hand, flipping over onto the balance of his tail, crossing his leg over his thigh and the other assisting his tail in keeping himself upright, the Monkey would stare down over the aged Suuji, grinning faintly at the sight of the scattered boulders, seeing that there had been much more crumbled to dirt than earlier. "It seems that even this test have been overcome, eh? Suuji-boy." He would call out, to have Suuji's attention.
Suuji looked over at Bananas-kun and gave him a low-bow. "I appreciate your acknowledgement, Bananas-kun. However, I know that there is much more to be done. What comes next?" Suuji was anxious as always to begin his task. Their training was almost over.... He could feel it. His hard work with Bananas-kun would pay off soon and he would be able to return back to his original world with newfound power. He would surpass his idol, his father, and bring the change he had always wanted to bring to Kumogakure. These next few weeks would be the most important of his life. He could not afford to fail after coming so far.
"The funnest part of the training!" Bananas would throw a banana up in the air, catching it with his tail as soon as he started running, jumping from destroyed rock to rock, flipping onto the very last rock before beckoning. "Let's go for a walk, Suuji-boy!" The monkey grasped onto a vine, taking a swing through a number of trees before jumping off. From tree to tree, the journey soon came to an end - the two of them were now quite adept at traveling through the jungle after all these years.
Jumping onto a rock, he'd point. "Every Sage has to come to this in their life... You will sit on these rocks." Giving him a chance to underestimate it, as always, he'd then point upward along the mountain side, "On those, Suuji-boy... Make sure you don't fall!" The monkey would laugh hysterically before wiping at the tears in his eyes. "I will make sure you don't hit your head when you fall, Suuji-boy... The key to this is to be completely still, so that you're entwined with nature itself - become one with the wind, with the grass and allow the natural world to flow through you - this is how you gather chakra of the world - but I'm sure you've heard stories of it's dangers.." Not continueing, but the happenings of a lot of statues here were large Apes turned to stone, though carved or unnatural was for him to decide.
Suuji took a large gulp as he sulked in Bananas' words. This was the moment he was waiting for. It was the moment he was training the last 3 years for. All his training would mean nothing if he couldn't surpass this obstacle that he now faced. He looked at Bananas' and gave him a smile before heading up to the massive rocks at the mountain side.
The size of these boulders was severely underestimated. They were much bigger up close. They now seemed massive. It felt like the boulders were a million stories tall. He looked up at the top and began his descent up the massive boulder.
Once there, Suuji took a seat in the indian-style position. He fell multiple times, maybe hundreds before finally being able to sit on it without falling off. He had heard stories about this training. If he failed and took too much energy, he'd be transformed into one of these boulders here. He looked out at the sky before beginning his meditation. A deep breath was taken before he closed his eyes and began his intense meditation. He'd be here for a few days at least.

Bananas-kun noted at how he had climbed the rock-side efficiently, much more so than he had done when they had first met. Watching him closely until the point where he made his seated position upon this thin slab of rock at the point-tips of the mountain. Again, noting at how balanced he had become also, maybe this last task wasn't going to be much more difficult afterall, "That's right Suuji-boy.. One with the surroundings." He spoke normally, not shouting in a place such as this. Seeing as this was going to be much more easier work for him, just needing to pay attention, he'd throw the Banana he held in his tail upward, skinning and eating it one bite at a time, not devouring it in one as usual, the amber eyes of the Monkey watching his student at all times, as any moment he could make a slight inch of movement and fall to certain death.
Suuji's focus remained uninterrupted. Time passed as he sat there. First minutes, then hours. Maybe even days. He wasn't paying attention to the time or the rustling of the trees. His mind was empty, open. It was accepting all that nature offered, sucking it all in. He could feel the wind flow through his bones. He could feel a pure energy that felt completely different from chakra vibrate his body. Almost there.... Almost there.... And then -
It was done. His eyes opened, revealing a light shade of grey around his eyes. His hair had also grown substantially longer and had even changed color. His original black hair had transformed into a white and grey color. This feeling.... What was this feeling? He felt so..... Alive? He had never felt this way before. He felt at complete peace and at one with nature. He could feel power running through his veins. All this training had paid off, and he had the people of this Ape Plain, Bananas-sama in particular, to thank for that.
Bananas would suddenly jump at the sight of Suuji falling, though, seeing him quickly recover himself each time he was sure to stay on his tip toes to ensure he wouldn't come crashing to the ground. "Suuji-boy! Your mind is one with the water - the wind! Your hair is the moss on the rock! Your fingers the tips of the trees!" He called out to ensure he thought of nothing but the nature surrounding him.
Bananas-kun would leap upward upon the new-found sight of Suuji, staring at the most noticeable physical change on his body, which were his eyes, "S-Suuji-boy!! Suuji-boy! You've done it! You've done it!" The Monkey would cry out after all of these years, he had finally 'graduated', finally he had completed his training under Bananas-kun, yet much more was to come in their time together, this was only the beginning of the Senjutsu arts that they were both now connected to. "Suuuuji-boy! Reward! Rewarrrrrddss!" Throwing a banana at full pelt at Suuji, while he sat on the rock slab so high in the mountain side.
Suuji caught the banana with his right hand and shot a smile at Bananas. He descended from the mountain until he was once again face-to-face with his sensei of sorts. After all these years filled with non-stop training and rigorous tasks, he had finally achieved his long sought after goal. It had all come full circle. He had done what his father could not. He was a Sage. Similar to the likes of the famous Naruto, he too had mastered the art of being one with nature. High praise for someone like himself.
"So, what comes next?" Suuji desperately wanted Bananas-san to say rest, but he should know better by now. There would be more training, more techniques to learn. He had become one with nature but that didn't mean he was prepared to use such power.
